It's a great time for residents and visitors to get out and walk the Lake Leatherwood City Park trails. The forbs are in bloom and are attracting pollinators!
If you don't know, forbs are herbaceous flowering plants that are not graminoid (grass, sedge, or rush).
The Steven Foster Educational Glade and Beacham trails still have some debris for us to clean up, but the Foster Trail walk-through is full of color if you look closely.
Get out there! If you use the iNaturalist app and upload images out at Lake Leatherwood, your images can be seen here: https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/the-flora-and-fauna-of-lake-leatherwood-city-park
