RECREATION
Hiking and mountain biking are popular activities at Lake Leatherwood. The park has 25 miles of trails; many of which are hand-cut single-track trails that are challenging for beginners through experts. The park boasts one of the areas few true downhill courses and the rugged terrain offers drops of 15 feet in some areas. There are also beginner trails for new bikers. The Beacham Trail encompasses the lake and offers breathtaking views of the dam and lake as you circle the lake. Anglers will also enjoy the spring fed waters of Lake Leatherwood, which is full of bass, bream, crappie and catfish.
FACILITIES
The park has 24 campsites: 3 RV sites, one ADA site w/ electric, 4 electric tent sites and 14 tent sites. There are also 6 nightly rental cabins, 3 mini cabins and a group camp. The park has a bathhouse, marina for boat rentals, basic supplies, bait and tackle, and registration.
NATURAL FEATURES
Hikers and bicyclists will enjoy solitude, wildlife, cool springs, an intermittent creek, historic stone walls and bridges, unusual rock formations, unique flora and the beauty of areas of nearly untouched natural surroundings. The area is comprised of Karst Topography, which provides the abundant springs, unique rock formations and impressive vistas in the park.
NEARBY ATTRACTIONS
Lake Leatherwood is located within the city limits of Eureka Springs, Arkansas. The town is often called Little Switzerland, The Stair Step Town, or the Swiss Alps of the Ozarks. The Ozark town is full of artists, unique shops, outstanding restaurants and unique Victorian architecture that is built on hillsides, almost defying gravity. There are over 200 miles of mountain biking trails within an hours drive of Lake Leatherwood in locations such as Fayetteville, Bentonville, and the Buffalo National River.
CAMPGROUND
Lake Leatherwood City Park is a place of natural serenity encompassing 1600 acres which includes an 85 acre spring-fed lake, nearly 25 miles of trails, boat rentals, boat launch, cabins, and campsites. The lake is formed by one of the largest hand-cut native limestone dams in the country. The dam and several structures at the park were built in the early 1940's by the WPA. Lake Leatherwood Park is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

All cabins have air conditioning, picnic table, fire ring with grill for outdoor cooking. No phones or TV.
