Tree Giveaway with Music, Cider & Sweets

Attention Locals! Pack a lunch, bring a chair, pick out a few trees and shrubs, and come join Eureka Springs Parks and Recreation for the Tree Giveaway with Music, Cider & Sweets on Saturday, October 7, 2023, from 10 AM – 2 PM at the Sal Wilson Memorial Pavilion at Lake Leatherwood City Park.

We appreciate that the Walton Family and Peel Compton Foundations continue to support Eureka Springs Parks and Recreation and the City of Eureka Springs Tree City USA urban forestry efforts by providing 200 trees to give away to Eureka Springs residents!

The selection of trees and shrubs at this giveaway will include:

40 – Downy Serviceberry

40 – American Beautyberry

40 – Wild/Smooth Hydrangea

40 – Shrubby St. Johnswort

40 – Nannyberry Viburnum

As Edwin Way Teale said, “… autumn is a time of harvest, of gathering together” so we decided to make this tree giveaway a locals gathering with cider and sweets along with music by Don Matt and Scott Thompson. Don and Scott have been singing together for 40 years creating original music comprised of harmonies and melodic affirmations. Scott brings new creativity and invention to this music with the addition of a Rav Vast drum, ukulele melodies and original tunes. Old tunes are enhanced, and new songs are uplifted by his additions.
